STATE OF PLAY
I have never had excellent eyesight. I have worn glasses since I was 10 years old. Need to possibly change my glasses lenses, I am looking for an ophthalmologist. I found one in Dinan. So I went to see this ophthalmologist in 2017 in Dinan.
Visual field check not very good. The specialist gives me an appointment in six months to check if the glaucoma is progressing. I ask him if it will be better. He shrugs his shoulders and says "meh".
When I get home, I make a "glaucoma" sheet. I look for its fundamental radius. With this I look for the best treatment. I measure the progress of my glaucoma. I install the treatment found on one of my devices. I then check every three to four days. After a few weeks, two I think, I find my glaucoma at zero percent.
Six months have passed. Here I am again at the same ophthalmologist. He performs the visual field on me which according to him did not work well. At my request, he tells me. I actually see much less black spots representing glaucoma. Back in his office he tells me that the visual field performed did not work well. Then he tells me "with you I am bothered, I hesitate to prescribe drops for you, and finally yes I prescribe them for you" I have never bought or taken these drops (which must be taken for life).
FIRST AID
Some time later, a former intern client called me to ask me to choose between several ophthalmologists because she had to and agreed to have laser surgery on her eyes to eliminate a cataract. I suggested a clinic in Nantes. Her procedure and the rest of it went well. Informed by this experience, I made an appointment at this clinic to check my eyesight and possibly change my lenses.
During the appointment, I successively go to the visual field and the cataract control and other eye exams. Then I am directed to the ophthalmologist's office. He looks at the results of my various exams, turns to me and says "you have a small beginning of a cataract: 18%". Do you want us to intervene? My answer: "I'm not very keen at the moment". The doctor tells me: "very well I'll write you a prescription for glasses and if your cataract gets worse call us, we'll take you faster". (it must be said that in this clinic the waiting times are long). That day, he didn't mention glaucoma to me. I am given an appointment in a year.
THE RESULTS
Back home I created a cataract file. I looked for its Fundamental Ray, then its best care. I installed the appropriate device with the care found. I evaluated the position of my cataract at the start with a follow-up and after a few weeks the cataract was no longer there. A year later, like the first time I underwent several examinations in different rooms before going to the ophthalmologist. Results in hand he told me "have you ever had 10/10 vision with glasses?". I answered him "Doctor, I have never had this level of vision" The doctor "your vision does not move anymore it is stable" If one day you have a problem call us, we will see you quickly". Thank you Doctor, during this last interview the ophthalmologist never spoke to me about cataracts or surgery.
